We regularly receive questions about visa regulations in Indonesia. As this may be a cinfusing concept, we will try to gather some useful info here:

"The New Immigration requirements have now BEEN IMPLEMENTED. This change in visa requirements has been widely publicised in the overseas press. Indonesia now offers a visa-free facility to tourists who are citizens of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Hongkong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region, Chile, Morocco, Peru and Vietnam.

Citizens of USA, Australia, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, United Arab Emirates, Finland, Hungary, the UK, Italy, Japan, Germany, Canada, South Korea, Norway, Taiwan and France are eligible for a visa-on-arrival facility from Indonesia. They will be given a visa on arrival. The visa will be valid for 5 or 30 days and may not be extended. The cost of the visa is $10 for the 5 day visa and $25 for the 30 day visa. Larger International airports and seaports have had their Immigration facilities modified to include banking facilities.

Points of entry will be the airports of Bali, Jakarta, Medan, Manado. Padang, Pekan Baru and Surabaya as well as the seaports of Batam, Sibolga, Belawan, Jakarta, Jayapura, Tanjung Uban, Padang Bai (Bali), and Dumai.

Residents of other countries will have to apply for the visa in their home Indonesian Embassy before coming to Indonesia. They will have to pay for the visa at the time of application."
