Do u know that in Oct. there will be a new ferry link from Batam to Bintan island? Just heard the news from a friend who is working on Batam Industrial area. It will be great, isn't it? Cos' the initial way of travelling to Bintan is only by ferry from Singapore. Now, with the new ferry route, i don't have to buy international air tickets to Singapore anymore, and just fly to Batam. To me, it saves $$, especially when i am talking about 5 of us travelling.

Ina, thanks for the info. Do you know from where on Batam it will leave, and where on Bintan it will arrive? Don't understand your excitement though, as there have always been passenger boats travelling between Batam and Bintan. I have several times travelled from Kabil on Batam to Tanjung Pinang on Bintan by boat, so why did you go via Sinagpore?
