For more on Sawu, check out this website: http://www.raijua.com/index.html

Some surf info from the above site: "The southern tip of Rai Jua receives the full brunt of Indian Ocean swells. The two left-hand surfbreaks situated on the point are offshore between the months of April and September. Swells also wrap around Rai Jua and break on the west coast of Sawu, where there is a series of left and right reef breaks, that are also offshore between April and September. A right hander, breaking on the southern coast of Sawu, is offshore between October and March."

I hear Savu has some surf. However, it is difficult to get there and upon arrival there is very few facilities for the traveller, definitely no accommodation tailored for surfers here !
Also the breaks require a lot of swell to work properly and even then are not very good.
All up I would not bother, there are plenty of better waves in Indo that are a lot easier
to get to and with far better facilities for the traveller.
